How To Reset Daikin Air Conditioner?

If your Daikin air conditioner isn’t running smoothly, you don’t need to worry as it is a good idea to try resetting it on your own as in most cases, the unit will start running properly. However, you must know how to reset your Daikin Air Conditioner as it can save you time and money.
There are different ways to reset a Daikin air conditioner. One way is a Hard Reset, which means switching off the breaker or unplugging the unit for at least one minute, and the thermostat for 30 minutes. Another way is using the reset button on the unit or the remote control.
If you are having certain issues with your air conditioner, like a green light, thermostat problems, or issues with your timer, there are specific reset methods designed for those issues. But before we get into the details of these methods, it is important to understand why a reset is recommended. So, let’s take a closer look at why resetting your Daikin air conditioner may be needed.

Understanding the Need for Resetting Your Daikin Air Conditioner:

There are various minor issues that you may encounter with your Daikin Air Conditioner which may seem like a big deal but can be fixed on your own without any hassle. Some of these issues include:

Failure to Turn On:

If your Daikin air conditioner fails to turn on, it can be caused by many factors such as power outage, thermostat issues, or dirty air filters. In such cases, before contacting a professional, attempting a reset is recommended as it may resolve the issue. In case of power outage, the circuit breaker of your Daikin air conditioner might trip, that can prevent your unit from turning on. Performing a reset is advisable to restore proper functionality if you experienced power interruptions. If you have tried resetting the unit on your own and it still doesn’t work, you will need to get in touch with a licensed technician from DGB Refrigeration Heating & Cooling by dialling 03 7038 6918.

Heating or Cooling Issues:

If your air conditioner is not heating or cooling properly, it is most likely caused by clogged filters or thermostat issues. You can try cleaning the air filters and resetting the unit and it will most probably solve the issue. If the issue persists, make sure that your thermostat is on the correct mode. If that is also ruled out, then the issue may be caused by low refrigerant levels which can only be checked by a licensed HVAC technician.

Blinking Lights:

Blinking lights on the Daikin air conditioner, particularly a green blinking light, could be indicative of a dusty or dirty dust box. While cleaning the dust box is a recommended solution, performing a reset might halt the blinking operation lamp. In cases where an error code appears on the display, starting a reset by disconnecting the air conditioner from power or using the remote control is often effective in eliminating the error.

Thermostat Malfunctions:

Malfunctioning components like the thermostat or timer can also be individually reset. If the thermostat, responsible for regulating the temperature, experiences issues, a reset can often restore its normal function. Similarly, the timer can be reset by turning it on and off.

Remote Control Issues:

If the Daikin air conditioner’s remote control is not responding, it may be because of some battery issues or a broken thermostat. You can try loading the batteries correctly and in case they are dead, you will need to replace them. If the issue persists, try resetting the unit through the on/off button on the thermostat.

Daikin Air Conditioner is Making Noises:

If you are experiencing weird noises from your Daikin air conditioner, these could be due to clogged air filter. These noises may be addressed by unplugging the unit, essentially performing a reset to resolve the noise issue.

Daikin Air Conditioner Keeps Turning Off:

If your Daikin air conditioner keeps turning off unexpectedly, it is most probably caused by a faulty thermostat, power outage, defective compressor, circuit board, or condenser issues. You can try resetting on your own to fix the problem. If the issue persists, you will need to contact a certified HVAC technician from DGB Refrigeration Heating & Cooling as these issues are way too technical and should only be inspected by a professional.
